A Hard Day's Night

Last night I had the toughest time of my life trying to fall asleep, which is something out of the normal. Usually, I'll be able to fall asleep as soon as my head comes in contact with the pillow. And also after I've undergone my compulsory sleep ritual.

Hiyoshi's Sleep Ritual

1) Lie down on back
2) Turn to right side while clutching at blanket (toto sebenarnya)
3) Turn to left side
4) Lie down on back again
5) Rub my feet against my blanket @ toto
6) Rub my feet against the bed cover
7) Repeat steps 1 to 6 until lose conscienceness.

Normally, after I perform my sleep ritual, I'll be off to Dreamland in no time. But last night was different. Strange, in fact. I had been tossing and turning in my bed, yet I still couldn't sleep. I dare say that I tossed and turned quite a number of times to feel that if I were a helping of salad, I'd be pretty much ready to be served.

When I can't fall asleep, I'll end up thinking too much (or is that the other way around?). Anyway, I was thinking about my life so far, and what I've been through, about how I've been swallowing much of the bitterness that I've faced lately...and then I started to feel sorry for myself.

It was then that I decided I had better go to sleep soon before I was swept away by a wave of melancholy. Which I did.

Nanti Aki nok gi belakang rumoh bukok kitab lama Aki tu, semok balik bab tido ni. Risau pulok Aki, kang ada pulok orang kate bidaah. Orang Pahang kate pede'oh.

Jadi awok ke Langkawi cu? Awok naik mende? Aki nok ucap selamat jalan dan balik dan semoga awok bergumbire di sana

Thank you for the concern. Hopefully there'll be no blackouts during the night :(

awe

Kenapa bernada penuh sinis ayat kasihan ko?

tokki andak

Aki, cu tak faham maksud chempong :( Boleh aki terangkan apa maksud dia?

Ayah memang kuat berahsia!

awe again: Thank you, but I think I can generate all the sadness I need all by myself

Macam ni Cu Yoshi. Chempong ni Aki tok ler pasti memang loghat Pahang ke bukan. Yg pasti dalam keluarga Aki, perkatan chempong ni membawe maksud orang kesayangan.

Itu ler penjelasan dari Aki. Kalau Aki Anjang nok tamboh, boleh ler. Tapi Aki rase dia tu jarang berjalan ke Blog orang selain rodong dia jer. Kere sumbang dia tu!

too cute man, too cute. why do i get the image of a baby falling asleep jer? ha? :P

speaking of sleeping, i better head off to lala land as well, lest terlajak sampai ke subuh (and hopefully, ill not sleep and terlajak subuh itself).

Haha.. to tell the truth I do number 5) and 6) quite often too. It does indeed help me to fall asleep faster than if I just lie there, tossing and turning like the salad you mentioned. Peculiar habit I know, but hey. Anything to get me asleep these days. I blame it on the hostel mosquitoes. Borg mosquitoes I call them- no amount of shieldtox or fogging could repel them.

firstly, welcome to blogspot! Hehe... I'm a bit outdated here I see. Anyway, I don't have any sleeping 'rituals', I'm probably one of the easiest to fall asleep around here- a few minutes is all I take n off I will go to la-la land.

That said, some of my more serious thinkings also take place in the quiet hours of the night. The feelings I am left with afterwards are often not content, but I think you need those moments, those feelings, every now n then. Keep you in check, you know? All's good then, I hope =)

having "rituals" for e.g. sleeping is a sign of obsessive compulsive disorder, did you know? hehehe.

An article I read advised: see the bed as only as a place to sleep. if you find yourself awake for more than 10 minutes, get up and do something else. Then try again later.

anyway how i normally sleep very late, and i guess, i watch DivX and until i'm sleepy enough to fall sleep (or read a [text]book).

Textbooks ... now that's a sure cure for insomnia!

Salaam..
Well, ditto here.. I have that trouble of falling asleep too.. Sometimes it takes me 3 hours! Luckily, it's not so bad these days.. back when I was young, I had such sleeping problems that I just can't sleep and end up crying because I'm scared.

Nowadays, it's getting easier.. I don't know why :D
